As a child it’s quite common to be asked what you would like to be when you grow up. I never really knew how to answer that question. I knew that I loved the idea of becoming a race car driver or a fighter piolet one day. But those occupations always seemed so unrealistic to me, even at a young age.
It wasn’t until I woke up one brisk Thursday morning in November of 2017, that the idea of becoming a photographer was planted in my brain. This field stood between my house and the high school I attended. Every morning I would walk past it half dazed and very reluctant to meet the day. However on this dreamy morning there was a beautifully lite fog that gleamed just above the foliage, illuminated by golden rays of sunlight. My half asleep self thought it looked neat and decided to snap a photo not thinking much of what I had just captured.
Years later I noticed a new picture frame that housed this image. My mom loved the photo so much she decided to print it out for all to see. This picture reminds me that even though I didn’t know it at the time, photography has always been in my blood. It also reminds me me that sometimes the most subliminal clues can lead you to your deepest passions one day.
